Led by internationally recognized experts, the program integrates scientific principles with practical, hands-on training.<\/p>\n<p><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">ITALIAN ACCREDITATION (CME) &amp; EUROPEAN ACCREDITATION (EACCME)<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event\u00a0<em>&#8220;CME &amp; UEMS-EACCME\u00ae Meeting \u2013 EMG WITHOUT PAIN&#8221;\u00a0<\/em>has requested accreditation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The number of credits is pending approval.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spesmedica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/EMG.GENOVA.progr-1.pdf\">Brochure<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Introduction to the Event<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Electromyography (EMG) is a cornerstone diagnostic tool in clinical neurophysiology, yet it is often<br \/>\nperceived by patients as an uncomfortable or even painful examination. This perception can<br \/>\nnegatively affect patient cooperation, examination quality, and overall clinical experience.<br \/>\nThe course \u201cEMG Without Pain\u201d has been conceived to address this challenge by promoting a<br \/>\npatient-centered approach to needle EMG, in which technical excellence is combined with<br \/>\nstrategies aimed at minimizing discomfort and improving patient well-being throughout the entire<br \/>\nexamination process.<br \/>\nHeld in Genoa, Italy, and led by internationally recognized experts, this advanced course offers a<br \/>\ncomprehensive overview of both theoretical and practical aspects of pain management in EMG,<br \/>\nwith the ultimate goal of enhancing the quality and acceptability of the examination.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Motivations and Objectives<\/strong><br \/>\nThe primary motivation of this course lies in the growing awareness that technical proficiency alone<br \/>\nis no longer sufficient to ensure high-quality neurophysiological assessments. Understanding pain<br \/>\nmechanisms, patient perception, and communication strategies is essential to optimize EMG<br \/>\noutcomes. The course aims to deepen participants\u2019 knowledge of the nociceptive systems involved<br \/>\nin EMG procedures, explore the relationship between muscle morphology and pain perception, and<br \/>\ncritically assess current needle insertion techniques to determine whether less traumatic<br \/>\napproaches are possible. Additional objectives include improving competence in managing<br \/>\nparticularly sensitive examinations, such as pediatric EMG and studies involving the face and<br \/>\nperineum\u2014and addressing safety aspects such as cross-contamination and other procedural risk<br \/>\nfactors.
